The conditions in the national and European transport market have worsened in recent months. New measures from the EU mobility pact and the resulting “homecoming obligations” for foreign drivers and trucks lead to a further shortage of available loading space and increase the already acute shortage of drivers. The prices for diesel at the pumps continue to rise as a result of the war in Ukraine. This leads to high fuel surcharges.
The logistic companies commissioned by us are exposed to exceptional cost pressure, which they have to charge us. They repeatedly confront us with increasing surcharges on their freight costs for parcel and courier services, general cargo traffic as well as part and full loads.
Unfortunately, we have no choice but to continue to calculate these additional costs in a transparent manner. From March 21, 2022, we will temporarily charge a resource surcharge of 1.1% on net turnover, which we will report as a separate position on each invoice. Of course, we will continuously review the market and price development as a basis for this surcharge. We hope for a normalization and return to normal conditions soon.
