Over the last twenty years, SICCE has gained extensive experience in the manufacture of special pumps for protein skimmers and is now a world-leading manufacturer of skimmers. This year, SICCE surprises us with a very special, originally designed line of internal skimmers that meet the requirements of the current market.

The skimmers have the cubic design of the recently introduced SHARK PRO series of internal filters. They owe their great compactness compared to devices with the same capacity to the principle of “instant skimming”, which enables the air bubbles loaded with proteins to be sucked into the skimmer cup immediately and by the shortest route. Proven SICCE pumps are used to generate the air bubbles, which are equipped with a self-cleaning multi-blade impeller that limits the amount of maintenance required.

The Shark SKIMMER line consists of two very specific models:
SHARK SKIMMER NANO 150 for aquariums up to 150 liters uses an instant skimming principle with a diffusion surface on the bottom plate, a particularly interesting principle for breeding aquariums with live plankton or sensitive animals. It only removes dissolved proteins and retains a certain carbon source within the biotope, which is very beneficial for filter-feeding animals.

The SHARK SKIMMER 300 for aquariums up to 300 l works on the principle of instant skimming with counter-current. The water loaded with proteins is sucked to the surface, which optimizes the performance of the skimmer. The 300 model can also be used “stand alone” for “low tech” reef aquariums. Surface suction, skimming and aeration in a single device and for an extremely low energy consumption of 5 W.

Both models are extremely quiet, compact, powerful and easy to dismantle and maintain. There are two magnetic holders for mounting on glass up to 15 mm thick. The external model is also waterproof so that it can be immersed in a filter compartment.

Key features for both skimmers are:

• Large capacity and easy to remove skimmer pot, very easy to handle and empty.
• Constant and strong skimming through a special regulation chamber under the skimmer pot.
• Automatic operation “Instant skimming principle” with a very short interval between the production of air bubbles and their evacuation into the skimmer pot. This principle guarantees very efficient skimming without loss of air pressure and without protein release.
• Compact, black, robust, mechanical housing with durable design, protects the internal parts from light and algae, easy to dismantle, very quiet operation, very low consumption. Can be used in most aquariums on the international market or in their filter compartments.
• MicraPlus / Syncra Silent 1.0 pumps with self-cleaning impellers. Their air/water mixture has been specially optimized to ensure quiet, long-lasting and energy-saving operation.
